Different pressing to Unsurpassed Demos.
The first issue of the acoustic demos for the “White Album”, recorded on 4-track Ampex at George’s house, “Kinfauns” in Esher, Surrey between May 20 and 29, 1968. Exceptions: Tracks 12 & 24 recorded at John’s home, “Kenwood.”
As with all YD issues, the speed is all over the map, except on Track 17, which is the only one to run at A=440 in their entire series – it must have been purely by accident.
Excess noise reduction was used on these tracks prior to CD mastering. It sounds more like a non-NR tape being played back with Dolby C engaged, than anything a computer could do. FFT noise reduction was still a long way off in 1991.
Track 12 – 2-track, 2nd “morning moon” version
All tracks mono.
