The Beatles – The Alternate White Album is a collectible 2-CD bootleg set issued under The Swingin’ Pig Records name, catalog TSP-CD-279-2, pressed in Thailand in 2002. Across 48 tracks it rebuilds the White Album era from session material recorded between February and November 1968: the acoustic Esher demos taped at George Harrison’s home, John Lennon’s solo demos, alternate mono mixes, isolated vocal tracks and rehearsals, rather than the finished album.
Highlights include acoustic demos of While My Guitar Gently Weeps and Blackbird, a mono mix of Happiness Is A Warm Gun, demo and vocal-track versions of Everybody’s Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Monkey, two Lennon demos of Sexy Sadie and two versions of Revolution, plus songs that never reached the album: Child Of Nature (later reworked into Jealous Guy), Jubilee (an early Junk), two takes of George Harrison’s Not Guilty, Heather, A Case Of The Blues, Sour Milk Sea, Circles and Las Vegas Tune, closing with Good Night. The sleeve carries the classic Swingin’ Pig legend “Realized somewhere over the rainbow”.
